You Put What In Where?!?! Deviled Egg Macaroni Salad!

The Wife is a really amazing cook.  She has thrown together some absolutely exquisite meals and I am always happy to taste test and offer suggestions for changes. 
I believe we tried three or four different macaroni salad recipes before hitting this one and once we tried this one, we never looked for another recipe.  We've played with this one a bit and Mike and Dane have asked for the recipe.  Directly from the Wife - I only use vinegar, no lemon juice, and I add white pepper to taste ( a healthy punch or so). Also, tell him to add some fried bacon bits!  . . . Always add the bacon. I would also say The Wife had put a little cayenne pepper once and I enjoyed it.

First order of business,  the name of the Blog is The Wife's idea, so don't bother.   Second order of business, I have no idea what I'm doing here, so have some patience. Next Level Japaleno Poopers

There are several styles of the jalapeno poppers out there. Around 2010 I found a variation called the atomic buffalo turd, from a BBQ website.  BBQaddict, if I remember correctly. We made them, but I found myself wanting more.   So here's what we did.  Let the cream cheese soften and added minced green onion, minced chives, onion powder, garlic powder, a bourbon smoked salt (yes, it's amazing) and some smoked paprika.  Fold and incorporate the spices into the cream cheese, next take the lil smokey sausages and quarter them long ways and then chop them up.  Essentially dicing them.  Throw those into the cream cheese along with a handful of a Mexican blend four cheese shred and fold to incorporate.   Shuff all that goodness into a sturdy ziplock bag, massage it a bit and work the filling down to one corner of the bag.  Clip the corner, make sure you cut a hole big enough for the sausage bits to get out or you'll ha...

Carnitas Burritos

So no shit, there we were.  Talking about food; I know, huge surprise, and Carnitas was brought up.  But what about carnitas Burritos, we asked?! So a plan was set and Carnitas Burritos happened on a nice Sunday afternoon. Amidst a canning extravaganza where we made canned nectarine preserves, spiced nectarines preserves, watermelon lemonade concentrate and a first run attempt at watermelon jelly.  A busy day to be sure but a fun day in the kitchen for The Wife and I.  A couple hours in the Dutch oven. . .
